What is that Fucking NYE Event ?

It all started the first time in a small hut where we spend a night or two with 20 people.
It is international and with all the years we can count a lot of represented nationalities like Greek, Italian, French, German, Czech, Spanish, Pakistani, Hungarian, Peru, Turkish, Netherlander, Russian, Ukrainian, Romanian, Canadian, Slovenian, Brazilian, Venezuelan, Australian, U.S. Citizen, Colombian, Estonian, Chinese, Polish and Swiss of course... and I am probably missing some.

The first time we did it without any electricity, lost in the mountain and then more comfort arrive.
The program was always to take it easy and people form groups to share activities.
This year we will return out of the path (almost) and be in the middle of the mountain but close to ski slopes.

The event is organised for you (couchsurfers) to meet people and enjoy New Year Eve with others instead of staying in front of your TV.
It will start the 29th of December and finish the 2nd of January (one extra night is possible for a few people helping to organise).
As usually there will be about 50 bastards willing to pay the participation fee in advance and that agree to be nice with the organiser.

For now the idea is not having a jaccuzzi but to organise some games (organisers or ideas needed)

Sharing

We will all participate for cooking, cleaning, prepare coffee for the others, give Giuze a nice massage, etc... you don't come to stay by your own 🙂

For people coming by bus, stop at the stop "Veysonnaz Bifurcation Clèbes", ask the driver.... the part to walk is way smaller.

The big news, the event will happen again.

Decision taken.... For a second consecutive year, we'll skip the jaccuzzi and keep that for the 10th edition. We'll try to organise some funny games or activities, if you have any idea or want to help, send me a message.

The party theme is chosen, it will be ABC - Anything but clothes (look below for the description)
After hundreds and hundreds of complains (ok not that many) about the theme, we will tolerate other outfits. But other outfits still means no shark allowed or they will be persecuted (Yes Aurélien, that's for you).

EXTRA EARLY BIRD TICKETS
I added some early birds tickets, I will remove them beginning of December so hurry up and get yours. If you want to invite your friends, it's time to motivate them.

EVENT HAPPENING ANYWAY
Even that we are a bit less than expected at the moment, the event will happen anyway. Due to more registration these last days and more messages, the forecast says that chances to be around 50 people is high 🙂

During the day, just find someone that is ready to stand you and go for some ski, snowshoes or do some snowball fights if you don’t stand the other anymore! If you are lazy or afraid of cold, just stay inside the hut, play card, sleep, drink or just be a zombie the whole day.

Thursday 29th Arrive any time you want and choose a place in the rooms and start to meet old friends and new nice people
Friday 30th Karaoke night (need someone to help with that)
Saturday 31th ABC Party with music all night (look description on the right)
Sunday 1st Workshops (if people are motivated): massage with Maria, yoga with Isabelle and Juggling with Simone
Monday 2nd Time to empty the hut and go home with a lot of souvenir

Probably one of the evening we can add some dance workshop for salsa and lindy hop.
I plan to take my pasta machine and if people are motivated (it will take time) we can have yummy fresh past ready for one of the dinner.

ABC - Anything but clothes
That means use your creativity and recycle things to create a costume, cardboard, lego, newspaper, post-it, old cans, an old ikea furniture or whatever as soon as it's not clothes.
Please avoit using trash bags, they don't look nice and it's too easy to do an outfit with that 😉

As every year, up there on that fucking white mountain (ok...last year it was green most of the days but we cannot plan that). Exactly at 46°11'55.7" N and 7°20'35.0" E where a big colonie will host us. The hut is close to the ski slopes and if snow is not there, you can go up and reach the "4 vallées" domain where snow is guaranteed.

WARNING

There's a few parking place nearby but be aware that you might have to park further.

You are responsible to carry your bags, equipment and drinks. We will also ask you to carry some of the food that we bought for the main meals.

By car: Go to that place. Share the ride with other if you have a place in your car, fill this form to offer a ride or if you need one.
By carsharing: From many cities in or around Switzerland, you can easily find carsharing by using blablacar.
By train: Check on sbb.ch and enter "Veysonnaz, Bif. Clèbes" or Veysonnaz, Poste as destination (first one is shorter), then it's 5 minutes walk (it works also if you start in Germany for example).
By plane: Nearby airports are Geneva, Bern. Zürich and Basel are not so far and have good access with train. Try rome2rio especially for big distance.

We are in Switzerland but we try to make affordable for anyone, the price would be around 170.- chf and it includes the place to sleep for 4 nights, the food and some extra.

Is the price cheaper if I don't join everyday ?
Unfortunately I have to keep the same price as it is difficult to do custom prices (I did this experience in the past). People would also change their mind during the event and stay longer or shorter time and it is also difficult to control.

What is included ?
The private hut with sleeping place in dormitory, the breakfast, dinner and some soft drinks (lunch and alcohol drinks not included).

Can I pay in another way than Paypal ?
Normally you are not obligated to register anymore to pay, a credit card should be enough. If you can't, you probably have a friend that can help you to make the payment through Paypal. Thanks to understand that I already have enough to prepare (like writing this FAQ) without having to manage payments for 50 or more people.

What is difference between early bird tickets and normal price ?
No difference, it includes the same, the only difference is that you pay less. That helps me to be sure people don't wait to register and makes the organisation easier with the guarantee there will be enough people joining.

Will the jaccuzzi be installed this year ?
For a second consecutive year, we'll skip the jaccuzzi and keep that for the 10th edition.

Is the ski included ?
No the ski pass is not included as well as swimming pool or any other activities.

Can I borrow snowshoes ?
If you borrow snowshoes, ask the owner and give them back as you borrow them. Be responsible until you give them back, if you give them back broken, please be an adult and talk with the owner.
